Summer school is for kids that are taking courses that they couldn't fit or didn't want to take during regular school.
But not all electives are on there. AND, it's only for 6 weeks. First three weeks is first semester and last 3 weeks is second. In the 3 or 6 weeks that you go you basically cram everything that other people learned in a whole semester or two into 3 or 6 weeks.
But, you can only take ONE course that lasts two semesters or two courses that each only last one semester.
I'm only taking second semester because I have to retake the course >.>

Well, classes started today. Luckily no labs this week or next (seriously, you guys have no idea how happy that makes me) Let me tell you guys something, don't take biochemistry or physics unless you really love those subjects or absolutely have to. Physics was the death of me and I have biochem this term (or semester if you'd prefer) and my friends have told me many horror stories. Oh and the three hour labs, how could I have missed them *rolls eyes* Except for the pure chemistry courses, those labs are fun 'cause we get to blow stuff up and play with fire ;D though the computer based labs suck

Mine started Monday. Well Saturday actually be I didn't really have any lessons then. I completely understand you about those sience subjects >< I had to take all three, there was no choice for me. But luckily for me I don't have Chemistry or Biology anymore. Only Physics.. which I hate. And we have a new teacher too... so I don't really know what she's like but she seems.. dangerous O.o
We never did get to blow stuff up either because I'm in grammar school... meaning.. focuses on language, literature and social subjects...

Grammar school? They don't have that here. It's basically high school and then university or college. Well 'm not sure what college is like but university can be fun, thats the only reason we get to play with dangerous chemicals High schools wouldn't allow it Incidentally, I actually love physics and chemistry (and even math a little). I just suck at physics and math but I'm doing a major in chemistry so I need them. You have no idea how much math is really involved in physics and how much physics is involved in chemistry. I swear, the only thing thats keeping me going is how much I like chemistry...

Well, our English teacher calls it Grammar school, haha. But I guess it's similar to your high schools... We have similar subjects. It lasts four years (until you're 18/19) and then you can got to college or university i'm not sure, what's the difference between the two? lol
Oh, I know all too well how much math there is in physics >< goddd... i'm soo not a science person.. i'm more of a language freak.. or as tickle.com would put it a Word Warrior, hahah!
What are you majoring in, or however it goes? What do you want to do when you finish school?

Going to get mah degree in chemistry, and I'll be focusing on material science or electro-plating if everything goes well... but we'll see >.> And as for the difference between college and university... well... Basically if you go to college you study for 2-3 years and you learn how to work machinery and tech stuff but you don't learn very much theory. With university you go to school for much longer but you learn theory as well as practical skills though its been mostly theory for me up until now. Don't get fooled though, in university you learn more but in college you have less time to learn your material. Anyhow it all depends on what kind of job you want and in which area. If you just want a job I'd say college is for you. But if you want to do be in charge of or just participate in research or be a prof you go to university. Just putting this out there for those who might be undecided or aren't sure which would be a better choice. Anyhow, if you guys have any questions feel free to ask

Hmm, that's actually quite interesting. I'd say, in that case, we only have Universities here, no colleges. Because they all last at least 5 years and there is definitely more theory than practical skills... so yeah ^_^ Thanx for clarifying though, I've always use to wonder

No problem.
I guess the universities in Europe are more specialized than the ones here if it ususally takes 5 years. Here you can get a general 3 year degree, a four year major (that's me ^^), a four year honours which is basically the same as a major except you have to finish in four years and then there's the masters and Ph.D. And then there's the minors...
Thinking about it gives me a headache >.< Lol, so do you know what you want to study/do when you finish high school?
